Our chickens have had bad things happen (2 Silver laced wyandotte)

Ok, doughy is not good. Can indicate sour crop. But soft is normal. Check her first thing in the morning. You want a flat, empty crop. If it feels doughy in the morning then it could be sour crop. Have you noticed a smell?

Also every single morning her crop is large how it is in the video.

can you seperate them incase I'm wrong?

have a dog crate you can put them in away from the rest of the flock?

in the morning their crop should have emptied from not eating. If you touch it, it feels deflated, but when its full its usually firm.

It feels firm in the morning as well.

Ok. So that shouldnt be happening. I'm thinking she may have sour crop or impacted crop. Neither are contagious but do need to be treated.

Ok. So that shouldnt be happening. I'm thinking she may have sour crop or impacted crop. Neither are contagious but do need to be treated.

"The fact that the second hen is having the same symptoms is not good. It is not a coincidence that two hens are sick with the same symptoms. This is something infectious, and the rest of the flock can be at risk.

If you are not experienced at treating your flock for illness, you should seek the help of a veterinarian. Find a vet that will help you figure out what is going on with your chickens. Or, you could take a chance with BYC member advice for treatment.

At this point if it is something infectious, the rest of the flock have been exposed. The sick chickens have coughed, drank water and pooped in the same area."
