Our chickens love chips!

So we were sitting outside eatin chips and dip, and my Big Red just jumped up into my lap! She wanted what I had, so I put a chip on the ground. She pecked it a little but not to thrilled with it. So I put some dip on one, and they went crazy over them!!

One of the things that has surprised me since I started having chickens is all the things they will eat. About the only things mine wont' eat are beats and potato peels. I was really surprised when they totally cleaned the chicken carcass that was left after we boiled it for chicken and noodles. Since then we've thrown the Thanksgiving turkey carcass in the coop and what was left of a rabbit carcass after we finished eating on it. We throw about all of our scraps out in the coop when we are done. Their main diet is layer crumbles, but It's really been surprising to me watchng them eat all this stuff as a treat from time to time.

It is funny the things those chickens of ours will eat! Just watch that you don't give them to much salt. I read on this forum its really not to good for them. Hey, maybe try the salt free chips!!

yeppers. throw out any kind of meat scraps and they will go after it. I wouldn't do it as a main part of their diet, but it's fun to watch them go after the meat, and try to keep chunks of it away from each other, plus it's a good way to clean away table scraps.
