We are so happy to announce our 4 newest members to the coop!

(Sorry it's kinda fuzzy....I took this with my iPhone)

We were given 7 fertilized eggs from my friend (we don't have a roo) to put under our broody hen Ginger. They hatched during the night of the 20th! Of the 7 eggs, 4 chicks have hatched. One of the eggs Ginger punctured about a week ago and we were hoping it would survive, but it didn't. The other 2 eggs have not hatched and I'm not holding out hope. My friend has a Partridge Cochin Bantam roo who fertilized her hens. She has a black silkie hen of some sort, Black Spanish Bantams, Golden Sex-links and a Partridge Cochin Bantam hen. I believe the 2 yellow chicks are the sex-link and the black babies are the Black Spanish Bantams. Funny thing is, because their daddy is a cochin, they all 4 have feathered feet! Kinda funny.

We are so thrilled to have our hen hatch these chicks. This was our first go at having a hen hatch babies!
