Here's our coop so far, my question is about the run.
We will be locking the chickens in the coop every night so do we really have to
put a bottom on our run? The last picture above is of the frames of the soon to be run walls,
we will be stapleing chicken wire to the sides and top.
As you can see the coop is movable so come fall we can move it around our garden for
leftover snacks for chickens plus fertilizer for garden.
Is that ok? Our property is 6ft fenced all around, as you can see in the 1st pix,
and we don't have too much trouble with daytime critters.

no bottom needed - just make sure you close them in.

Since you will be moving it around it isn't likely that a pred will dig under in 1 night - but it is possible. So close them up & you are good.

I have a perminant 25 x 25 run with no top.

I have fits with all kinds of critters eating my chickens. I had a red tail hawk eat one last year. I'm working on a lid.

By the way - cool coop!

Thanks!
We have tons of hawks and also occasional bald eagles and golden eagles. We also get large packs of buzzards off and on, a top is mandatory here!
