Our coop is done! with pics!

I talked my mom into getting chickens this year. Neither of us has owned chickens before and it seemed best to go into the venture together.

My husband started our coop, but weather not permitting he was not able to finish it yet. Since we were visiting my mom over Easter we took the time to build hers first instead.

I'm really hoping we will be able to finish ours this next week! My chickens are getting too big for their brooder!!! And dusty!!!!!!!!!!

We used the garden coop method - I think it will be pretty nice because it seems easy enough to make modifications to.
This is my first time doing anything from chickens - so the only thing I know has come from searching google and this forum!

Thanks to 'patandchickens' for the info about deep litter - I had not found anything bad or unrealistic about using this method, but you shared a lot of good information. I am eager to see if it will work for us!

We have 6 hens going into this one - and possibly considering 2 jersey giants as meaties.... idk if I have what it takes for meaties though
