our coop & run in North Texas

I can really date myself with a reference to baud rates and the GreatLakesFreeNet circa 92-96 back in Cereal city USA. So I have always been respectful of that for those who deal with modems still or even like we are on DSL with a mind-numbing speed of ~2.5-3.8MB/s given our distance to the nose and living I 3rd tier Telecom area.
I hear ya! I still reduce pic file size when posting, just because there's no reason for huge high res files unless you're printing high end or large format photos.

Oh and Welcome to BYC! @electrycmonk
Nice Build!
Here's how to add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

(Giggles) 5:49am?! On A Sunday? See, as your on full browser mode I will see that soon enough. Here is why I admitted the cellphone challenge to such learning curve in a new forum. Screenshot_20191215-105732.png

Ah well, all in due time....
Just finished reading your coop thread & the stacking one.... Oh geez, I'm already designing/fine tuning how I want to turn our small backyard into a truly real daytime run. That is give it a skynet. Not sure how my wife will be about that idea yet....(smirks) as She's the one who gooshed over getting more chicks & now I'll be the one about "they need more room" & then 'chicken math' will likely multiply? /Facepalm

Alright, gotta go tend to chores.

So here's a few more shots from the next stage. Inside shots of insulation and then covering it up.
So I really lucked out regarding the double whammy of storms shattering windows planned for the coop & the replacement for them... A couple days later I saw one that was a recent donation. Snagged it and this time the folks at the habitat reStore gave me a day or two to make the North facing wall ready for the window - so I could install it as soon as I brought it home give the history. (Of all the odd luck eh?)
So the styrofoam I scored free from a fast-food place getting a massive makeover. Used it for the attic rafter insulation as well. PSX_20191214_203345.jpg

Here is that North window with wall skinned

Here's my "portable work bench" as I was using carboard templets for the exterior & interior plywood puzzle to maximize the wood.(smirks) PSX_20191214_203428.jpg

And a few more showing the fun, with the rock subsurface extraction and realignment for the drain pipe. PSX_20191216_223232.jpg
doesn't seem all that scary yet.... PSX_20191216_223304.jpg
That's about 1/2 of the trench dugout.
PSX_20191216_224121.jpg
The pipe is in place now.... time to Tetris the stones (note the right side of the pipe) that's tetrising stones done right & up against the 1/2" machine cloth buried about 12" down. PSX_20191216_223330.jpg
Here is "Bohdi" supervising me again....
PSX_20191216_224211.jpg

Here is a 2 part gate I re-re-designed on the fly once the neat PVC deer netting showed up for the upper netting for the run....
PSX_20191216_223517.jpg
... And what to do with some of the extra stone that the drainpipe replaced....

And then a little roughing in the exterior painting.....

And here is a good shot of the hinged vent flaps PSX_20191216_233150.jpg
And here is a great WX shot seconds after a spotty downpour.

Okay, back to the coop...
PSX_20191216_233049.jpg
And "Bohdi" ever the supervisor....

The south face:

The North face window 3rd times a charm?
PSX_20191216_223444.jpg

Here's the chicks door obviously before painting started....
PSX_20191216_224330.jpg
And the outside 'in the run'...
PSX_20191216_224403.jpg

And here's the 2nd go at the install of the PVC netting. Once I figured out the oddity with the middle fold skewing the squared pattern of the netting.

Okay. Night night.

(Giggles aloud) So, ThreeOfSeven those number scare ya?(I think of a character from DS9 every time I see your ID-snickers in a good way) Being Born & initially raised in Michigan, I *know* what wind-chill & winter is all about. We built tunnels in our backyard during the Blizzard of '77-78. Heck I even have a memory of being able to laugh with some family/friends that we actually got to have our "up hill both ways in the snow story" when we had a morning of -11°F BEFORE wind-chill was factored in to feed the calves before going to school as well. So, I'll take dry heat/cold any time over humid heat/cold .
