I knew someone would say that! Fortunately live in the city and have back to back neighbors and 6 or 8 ft tall fences all the way around our yard. We also have 2 very protective pit bulls that adore their chickens. They greet them every morning when they come out of their coop. We dont get many predators here, mostly they stay in the hills. We occasionally get a bear that comes down from lake tahoe, but even hardware wire wont stop a bear :/ If i lived 15-20 miles in any other direction i would have definitely used hardware wire instead. But we were gifted a huge roll of chicken wire for free so we are using what we have. If i lose any for that reason, a predator getting inside, ill invest in better wire then. But for now, esp since i just recently lost my job, we have to make due with what we have.
