Our first babies

My hen lays eggs with red spots all the time. We don't have a rooster so we know the spots aren't because they are fertilized. They say that happens during the egg making process when a vessel ruptures. The eggs taste fine and, once cooked, you don't even see the meat spot anymore. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE Buff Orpingtons here! They are incredibly sweet. Mine will run down they driveway when I come home, go to my side of the car, and fly up onto my lap when I open the door. <3 Good luck with your new babies!

Wow how fast two months went!! All six are beautiful Silver-laced Wynadottes . I wouldn't trade them for anything now lol. Plus we added two Peking ducks. Yep that's right we are crazy. I will post a new pic of the girls. Yes they are all girls Whoo Hoo!! Thank you all so much we couldn't have done it without everyones help. Love Backyard Chickens!!!

Lol I know right. They are almost addicting. We are in a cicaida invasion this year lol. The girls were going nuts this morning. Are they safe for them to eat? Not that I think I could stop it lol.

We are quite proud. They look so good considering we have never raised chickens. These are the other women in my husbands life. He takes great care of his ladies :)
