tylan 50 is an injectable but you can give it to them orally. 1/2 cc in a medicine dropper squirted down throat once a day for 5-7 days its for respitory infections. I hope things get better with the new flock.. Wow Your broilers are already 3 weeks that went by real fast. My broilers are in the mail they made it right outside of my town this morn and then the post office missent them to a different town so I beleive they are trying to track them down now. Hopefully they are all safe and I can pick them up today. I will definitely be following your blog.

My Broilers are doing very well. They are 9 days old today! No loses and everyone seems healthy Yesterday we moved them from the small brooder to the big brooder and they will stay there until next week when I feel they are big enough to go into the chicken tractor. I have them on Blue Seal Broiler Crumbles and they get broiler booster in their gallon waterer daily. I feel a little bad for the chubby little things. They get around fine and they run and flap their wings but they look a little uncomfortable. Just curious are you using tools from around your home to process or purchasing. If your purchasing where from? I need to get moving on finding all my equipment for processing day and a freezer also.

Wow they are getting so BIG!!! I cant believe how quick time goes and they do look like meat :( lol. I have 2 BBW turkeys that really feel like meat when I have to pick them up they are so big at 12 weeks old. Is that a Burbon Red I see sitting on top of the waterer? I have 5 of those 4 1/2 weeks old.
 
Yes, it is a Burbon Red. He/she will be our pet though:) I can't say that for any others that we get. We are using the Blue Seal Broiler crumbles as well. As for the tools for processing, we will be doing it the old fashion way, however, it will be humane! My dh has been doing a lot of research and watching tons of video from youtube. The professional tools are just out of our price range at the moment. We are still recovering from our recent move. He has had to cull multiple roos in the past and we processed them so he feels he is up for the task. I think we are going to break it down and do maybe 10-15 at a time. Doing 50 at once time would be a bit overwhelming. I will keep you posted. Great pics by the way. Keep posting:)
 
A day late but the 5 week pics are now on the blog. You know the drill by now if you are following our adventure. I would love to have feed back from some of you pros out there on what we are doing right or wrong and how we may want to change some things :)
