Beth and Ryan here, first time chicken parents. We have five pullets.

Our chicks are as follows:
Leslie-- our alpha female, barred rock (black and white speckled)
Pikachu-- our very light/almost white gold Ameraucana
Raven-- our dark brown Ameraucana with speckles on her head
Sparrow-- our one and only Silver Wyandotte
Ducky-- our Rhode Island Red who is the smallest and kindest so far

Like all new parents, advice is welcome. We are handling them daily and picking them up and they fall asleep to calming chicken music (thanks YouTube). They don't seem to like Rooster sounds but responded positively to songbirds (we tried a lot of different sound effects to see what they would like/dislike). They haven't been out of their tub yet.

Super happy to be here!

:welcome!

Comgrats on the chicks! Pikachu and Raven are very likely easter eggers, not ameraucanas, unless you got them from private breeders :) If they came from a feed store, they're definitely easter eggers.

If you want to give them a treat, you can try a bit of scrambled egg. I've never had a chick that didn't go nuts for it, haha.

Love your intro with the YouTube chicken music! Most of mine have been brooded in a spare bedroom and were forced to listen to whatever was on the upstairs TV.

It is likely your Ameraucanas are Easter Eggers. When the local feed store sells chicks, they're billed as "Americanas," which is what Hoover Hatchery calls its Easter Egger chicks. Having said that, my two are adorably lovely girls. One lays a cream-colored egg and the other produces green eggs.

Welcome to the group and the upcoming adventures with your babies!!
