Hey BYC crew!

we are finally underway on the chicken adventure. everything starts with a coop. I'd like to share with you guys our journey as it unfolds.

Hey guys this is getting closer than ever to real. how many of you have powered chicken coops? do the chickens peck at the wire? TIA

I have an extension cord to a string of lights in mine, unil the electric gets put in. Runs along under the roofline, just on the edge of the ceiling. Roosts are about 2 feet under it. No issues so far. And I've been watching. I do have the wire taut and tacked close to the wood, so as to make it less attractive to the chickens.

I never had a problem with chickens pecking wires in the 20 or so coops i had in TN.
