Another long day of coop building. Here is what we got done today:

The under side of the roof is now painted.

Pop door is cut in (i'm gonna make it bigger and put in an auto door...and I tried a little of the paint to see what it will look like.

The back wall is up with the window and nest boxes framed in.

Top door that will be covered in hardware cloth and can be closed in winter (there is another door just like this on the other side).

Bottom door for clean out (there is another doo just like this on the other side).

Both doors closed down. These doors are all "lipped" from the inside to seal when latched.

Ok - soooooo close I can taste it!. We got it moved from the shop to the yard, got the sand spread out and the kennel moved to where we want it. Please ignore the tarp, we have not gotten the roof shingled and it is raining here so we had to tarp it. This weekend we shingle, attach the coop to the kennel, put all the hardware cloth on the kennel and put the top on the kennel. I am praying the girls will be in there by Sunday.

Getting this thing in semi place was a huge deal, it was built in my brother in laws shop about 4 blocks from here and weighs in at about 500lbs without the roof on it. Had to move that seperate but we finally got it down here in the back of the truck!
