We live in a residential neighborhood so it was very important that we try and make our coop/run as attractive as possible. With that being $100 to spend. We pooled all available resources and began to disassemble wood pallets (Not the blue ones as they have chemicals on them). I always have old window sashes because I paint and sell them. I wanted to incorporate one that was operable and would allow some sort of venting in the hot Tennessee Summer. It took time, but all in all we are so proud and our babies love it too. I have to give a shout out to my sister and brother-in-laws company www.cottagehousenumbers.com, they made us these lovely numbers to match the ones on the house front and I felt like it really gave it that extra bit of shabby chic appeal that I love. My hubs built this entire set up all by himself and as you can see he is totally enjoying watching the babies peck about. Time for the landscaping next. Thinking some waterfall ornamental grass will offer shade and will grow very quickly...then of course we need marigolds to deter flies.
