In the Brooder
We got our chickens on February 25th of this year. They were only a few days old. I built them a new coop and run as they were spending their early months in the brooder box. Luckily we have had no health issues, or any other problems since we got them.
Yesterday we got our first egg. I heard one of the hens clucking more than usual, but I didn't think anything of it. Sometimes my hens like to play around with my small dogs, so I figured that was what all the clucking was about.
I went out back about an hour later to change their water, and I found our first egg laying in the middle of the run near the hens water container. I was pretty excited. I brought the egg inside and took a picture of it.
....now I need to get them trained to lay their eggs in the nesting boxes.
