After 21 1/2 weeks we have it. Our first egg. We’ve been waiting patiently and taking all of your advice and wisdom and it looks like it is all paying off. We have a couple black austrolopes that have large , dark red Colmbs and waddles. But our partridge rock , Matilda , started to get really friendly a week or two ago and started to squat whenever we got close. She has been so vocal and friendly. I am certain it was her. She laid it right in the nest box like she should . Good girl she is. I opened the egg hutch door to find the nice little first egg and she ran in the run, up the ramp and jumped right in the nest box. As if to say “ look what I did , aren’t you proud”. Lol.
My regular friends probably don’t think it’s that special, but I know
you guys all know how fun that first egg is. Now I do too.
