Our First Egg!!!

"The Kid" went out this afternoon, and found our First Egg laying by the back deck steps!

I suspect it was one of the Plymouth Rock hens, since she wasn't running with the rest of the flock this morning.






It's a tiny little thing compared to our older hens, but it sure is cute!

So far, we are only getting one a day, but this morning Blondie, our Orpington, left her first egg in the box. It's a little larger, and lighter in color, than the eggs from "The Rockettes".

I remember my first chicken egg 6 years ago. I was so excited. I took photos of it and sent them to my mother. I had waited a long 6 months for that egg.
