My Red Stars are 16.5 weeks and this afternoon my daughter went out to check on them and came running back with two eggs in hand.
She also won the egg pool...she picked today for eggs, I thought it would be too early, but she won!

opps forgot the photo

I was told not to *expect* anything until the 22 week mark, but because of their breed, and I was doing everything from the right amount of light (plus they have two big windows in their coop for natural light, and it's still a bit chilly and even though they technically didn't *need* it I put up a heat lamp. Then for a joke we put a couple of fake eggs in there, it was to tease my girls, but now I wondered if that helped! lol

We were very excited. Hopefully won't be long for yours!!!!

lol I tried to do that when I got them and didn't know how to load a pic...figured it out and then forgot to post my chickens

here is one of them. I ordered 12, but only 11 came in the crate, they are replacing that chicken in July along with 6 more, so I will have 18 in july!

A bunch of them, still a bit scared and crammed in a corner. Now they are inside/outside in their run, and very brave and come right up to us and eat out of our hands and demanding more!
