Our first ever quail eggs!!

Well, our lil corturnix quail ladies are finally starting to lay eggs!

Yesterday I got 3 eggs and today I got 4 eggs! We currently have 9 hens...so maybe we'll get 5 tomorrow! LOL Im amazed how fat and round quail eggs are...makes me think "ouch!" coming from such little birds! I guess I had better get going and buy a bator this weekend

don't you just love 'em?

they're so small and rather tasty. they'd probably be good boiled (though i don't like hard boiled eggs) for just a pop in your mouth snack.

Ya know, I havent ever tasted quail eggs before I guess it didnt enter my mind seeing as I have an average of 8 dozen chicken eggs in my frig at all times! LOL I just figure I will collect at least a dozen or so and hatch out some chicks
