Our first hatch - CPQ

Day 3.

We did a quick sniff test last night, and so far nobody smells bad.
They are shipped eggs, we expect at least half of them to start smelling soon.

@Nabiki I've kept the top vent closed and humidity has reduced to 40-41%, but I'm unable to lower it further. There are two other tiny, unadjustable vents under the incubator, but the manual says they shouldn't be blocked.
What would you do in this situation?
I'll just clarify that no water has been added to the incubator at all, and the room is currently sitting at 60% humidity.

Does the incubator have a fan? If so, you might try opening the vents because I've found that humidity goes down a lot. Granted I live in high desert, so there's not a lot of humidity here.

It does have a fan. If I open the vents, humidity goes back up as it's very humid here. I'm right next to the ocean in the south of England, we're at 62% humidity in our living room right now.

There's not much you can do then. You don't have any water in there at all, right?
No, I've not added any water at all. I'm keeping all the windows closed as humidity is 69% outside today and still going up.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it.

Day 4.

A larger dehumidifier is on it's way (thanks for the idea @CliftonQuail )

We're absolutely itching to see if we have baby buttons on the way, I'm assuming day four is too early to candle button quail eggs?

Most of the eggs are the standard olive green/brown speckled colour, but we have a couple that are a lighter bluish/green, so we might just take a look at those and see what we see.

Day four is a bit early, but if you know what you're looking at, you can tell if it's developing or not.
Fair enough. We have no idea what we're looking at, so we'll probably leave it a bit longer. We've seen lots of videos of people candling coturnix, but nobody seems to bother with buttons. I'm assuming it's because it's hard to see anything going on in something so dark, and tiny.
