Our Friendly Bear pays us a visit

Tes, berfore you put up the electric fence, please read some of my post on electrric fences. I have a few, they will tell you that you have to use bard wire for bear. This is a must because of their coat, the wire you get with the kit WILL NOT reach the skin to chock them. The barb goes to the skin abd they get shocked, this is the same method used for sheep because of the wool. Remember to keep the ground under the fence moist. If you don't there will be no shock. If you do it right you won't have a predator problem from the ground. Still have to deal with hawks, owls and eagles.

Panner - Thanks for the information!!! Much appreciated... I can tell you that we do not buy those "kits". In our opinion they are not worth the money... As we have several animals that have to be fenced we buy in bulk. Barb wire is a MUST here on the farm... We have a BIG horse that is not bothered by electric... so we also have to run barb... if you know what I mean. So all of these items are already here... I will let DH know what you said and will have him look up your information.
Thanks again
Tes
