Our Gander is a Sex Maniac - with everything but the goose

Oh geez. All was well until the last week or two. We have a small flock of ducks - drakes included. The ducks were raised with our geese, a pair of Pilgrims, gander and goose. The gander has gone bananas. He jumps on chickens to breed them, he tries to breed the laying hens, everything but his lovely lady friend. My guess is she is big enough to fend him off right now?

Is there anyway to stop this? I'm very worried he'll end up killing our laying hens. He also attacks the drakes when they're doing their job with their duck pairs.

Any help would be so appreciated.

I would separate him out. Perhaps a time out will help. Often when different poultry species 're raised together they don't know the difference. It may not stop.

I'd put him and his mate into a separate area but secure area. So he begins to realize who is his mate.

Your correct he can kill your hens since water fowl and chickens have different anatomy.

Drakes can do the same if they go after chicken hens so make sure your drakes aren't going after your hens also.
