Chirping
My husband, who had always refused to have any "farm animals", brought home 3 Buff Orpington's, hens to have eggs from. The next April, when our local convenience store was sold, & the new owners was selling week old chicks, he decided to get me some for "my birthday".
Now that they are getting older, we have one definite rooster, named Roosty, and another that might possibly be another Roo.
We really appreciate the articles we have read on your site about roosters, and how to raise them with care and patience, instead of "cooking" them. We are very attached(at least I am) to them, and are learning how to treat and train them, so that they aren't the mean, noisy birds we have always heard that roosters can be. Thanks to the articles on here, we look forward to raising at least a few chicks(I love all kinds of babies).
Thank you, BYC, and all the others who have shared with us, so that we are able to love our birds, like we have always loved our cats and dog. God Bless.
