We are very new to being chicken parents. We have 6, 6 week old Sex Links. Since the coop has been done for about 2 weeks, for the last week and a half we have been been putting them in it for the day and bringing them in at night just to be safe. Well, last night we decided that they were ready to stay out for the night. But we were both so nervous we coudlnt help but go out and sit in the coop with them for a while. (My guy made it out of an old shed, so it has lots of room). After about 5 minutes, the girls, one by one, started climbing his arm up to his shoulder-neck and began to purr in his ear!!!!!! PURR!!! Like a cat!! it was the cutest, sweetest thing ever!!!! Is this normal? What does it mean?? I think they are the happiest chickens ever, but I have no experience so...... it was just really cool....
