Fantastic read! Very informative and easy to follow Now I'm curious about this goose (lighter bird) her mother is the grey goose and her father one of the white Ganders. It was interesting to read how and why this breed is dimorphic, but why is she so much lighter that her mother? Is this just variation amongst the same gene or something else at play?

I have been learning chicken color genetics, but I am clueless about goose color genetics. Am I to understand that white is actually genetically silver? If so, then I used an online calculator to determine that a white Tufted Roman gander over a Buff American goose would create blue offspring. Can anyone verify this??

I have 1 male SEBASTOPOL and 1 female SEBASTOPOL. They both have American Buff mates. What will I get for babies?

What do you mean lack? To be solid colored or to all be pied ? They are beautiful. What do the newest hatchling look like now?
