Our hen's feathers

Hi, All:

We have a Dominique pullet who is about five weeks old. She is VERY friendly, and comes over to us looking to be picked up and held. Her adult plumage is coming in and it's very soft. She loves to be petted and it's very pleasant to pet her! My concern is; will all this touching be bad for her feathers?

I don't think so, as long as you're careful not to damage anything. Regular handling is good because, if she gets sick or broody, it won't be as challenging if you have to handle her then. Have fun with your cuddler.

Dominiques are amazing birds! Very intelligent and super friendly. Just be gentle and handling her will be pleasant for both of you.
