Our HOA board amended the rules--now ALLOW chickens

Quote:
There are no limits, the city law doesn't limit the number either. Our yard size will definitely limit the number we can have though, I don't want more than 8.

Our city has always allowed chickens (no roosters) and now our HOA does! So in the spring we will build/buy a coop and get come chickens! I'm really excited that after reading her for over a year and wanting chickens for a long time that it will be a reality in not too long! Thank goodness for a good HOA board who can see reason--and and HOA president who wants chickens as well doesn't hurt.

Congratulations! How are your chickens doing? :)

I am just starting this process. You said your HOA board approved the change? Were chickens disallowed by the CC&Rs or the Bylaws?

Our HOA board told me it had to be approved by 75% of homeowners, rather than the board approving.
