Oh chicken math was strong in this house last night. Caught myself saying things like "I have to have ...breed" hahahaha

Almost ended up buying 3 dozen eggs and still not setting any of our own! had the reign in the desire to own one of every breed in the country. We have the same space issues you have Oz, just on a smaller scale.

Sigh, some day this will not be an issue and I will be able to have any breed I like hahahahaha

Ben, you will need more then 2 U.S. acres of land to do it right.

I have my heart set on 5, but I could certainly work with 2.

Another member put my onto the 'One Acre Eden' blog that I thought was pretty cool concept, coupled with some permaculture video's I have seen I would like to have a crack at some eco living. Not full blown only eating what we can produce type eco, just better, a mini orchid, a dam, decent veggies and of course a few breeds of chooks!

Got an email last night, breeder says she can't complete the barred rock order I asked for Fav's in their place. I hope her Rocks have a change of heart about producing some eggs this wee!

Ben go for the 5 or MORE if you can get good land. You have no idea how small 2 acres are intill it starts getting full!!

I was wondering around youtube this afternoon. Found this Aussie farm's organic free range video. I have to say I like the way they are producing.

I have learned to try and source more than one supplier at a time and divide the order. Still I had 72 Australorps booked for the last trip. i took 6
