Our journey

Katy, TY for the advice. This was my first hatch and I was not planning to have to help them. This one did the work himself once I moistened the membrane, but I did end up pulling the membrane back after several hours because it seemed like he was struggling. I bet I shoudl have waited. It took him another 17 hours to get himself completely out of the egg. I really do appreciate the observation. I am so new to this, but do plan to try again in the future so I will take any knowledge I can get. When I helped this guy he was at the end of day 24.

Chickenbike, I would assume that you will not have to worry about helping, but yes, I helped. I had 6 eggs and they were at the end of day 24. Only one chick lived. Three were already dead, and two died before they finished hatching. I found the beaks then let them do thier own thing. I think I actually waited a bit to long for some of them. My humidity was too low and the membrane dried out. I wish I would have found this site at the beginning of the incubation instead of the end.
