We found a couple picture online of some chicken coops that we like, and we kinda went off that. we had no plans just kind of trial and error. I am not a builder but i did have some help from my wifes uncle. It took a couple weekends and a couple days during the week. Right now we have 6 bantams and we are hoping for two mor bantams for a total of eight. We built it out of treated lumber, so right now the coop is pretty heavy. it takes about two people to move. but the lumber yard said in about 6 months it should loose about 25% of its weight after it drys out. we were suppose to wait to stain it untill it dryed out but we couldnt wait to get it done. we are really happy with the way it turned out. please let me know what you think.

Your tractor looks great!!! It does look like its heavy, how hard is it to move?Do you have double wheels on both sides? I would maybe but some handle on the front that extend past the frame to give you move leverage to pick it up and move it.I just finished my tractor and have extended handles on the front. My wheels are also centered on the balance point of the tractor and it is easy to move and weighs about 350 to 400lbs.

Thanks for the comment, well its pretty heavy to move right now. you wouldnt want to move it all the way across the yard. but to move it 10 feet to get to fresh grass isent too bad. if you look closely at the front of the coop there is two handles that we can slide an 8 foot 2x4 threw that you can then use as a handle. it works out great for leverage. also yes there are a total of 4 wheels on the coop. doubled up on both sides. im not sure of the weight. the guy that we kinds got our idea from builds his out of cedar and he can move it around the yard no problem. so im hopeing once this drys out it will be more moveable. its suppose to loose 25% of its weight... so we will see i guess.

I really like it! I ordered a coop 4 weeks ago and today they cancelled my order because they can't complete it. They wait until delivery is due to cancel. Well anyways... I hope to have something like this built!

You can hope! :) If it was really wet treated lumber and sheathing, your wish my well be granted...hope your stain holds on, really not a good idea to paint/stain wet wood, might slow down the drying too.

Nice tractor!
