We are using a Lifetime shed for a coop and have built a run that completely encloses the whole thing.
Besides the skylight, there is a window and windows on the doors, all of which can have the glass removed in hot weather.
There are vents at the peak in front and back of the shed.

Since the peak of he shed is 8’ tall the run is tall enough for a large screen door. We removed the screening and added hardware cloth to the door.
We haven’t cut a pop-door yet but will soon.
It’s located near the house partially in the shade of peach and apricot trees.
We’re not putting the nest boxes in yet since the chicks are only 9 wks old.
Since it looks like we will only have 6 hens, there is plenty of room for them in this 5’x8’ shed.
We’re using the deep litter method and though it’s only been 4 weeks since they moved in, so far no odor.
We placed a deck box just outside the run to hold feed, treats and supplies.
When all the perennials and shrubs come in we plan to let them freerange a couple of hours in the afternoons.
These are our first chickens and we’re learning as we go.

The help and information we’ve received on this site has been amazing. Thank you so much.
Love, love, love having chickens.
Wished we had started this years ago.

Nice!!!! Be sure to watch you're run when things start blooming, once lost a pair of pullets to a elderberry that unknowingly popped up in a corner of our last run, and babies didnt know any better :"(
