After buying The Garden Coop plans and seeing that it was going to cost us over $1200 in supplies alone, we used our current storage shed/barn. We had a friend design and build it for us and it cost about $400 in materials. The last third of our barn has the coop with 2 egg boxes and roosting bar. We have full access to it once inside the barn. I am very pleased by how it has turned out. Now we just need to stain it. I added a true roosting bar in the run (not the scrap material in the picture) and the chicks love it. Now I am having a hard time getting them to go into the coop at night. This coop/run houses 4 bantams at this time. We started with 5 but lost one free ranging to a predator or exploring.
