My attempt at designing and building a chicken coop (with plenty of help from the wife and children):

We decided to integrate the rabbit hutch with the run. I built a covering for it as you can see in the photo.

I don't know if you can make out the chicken wire in the photo's but there is no chicken wire around the three sides that support the shingled hutch roof.
