Ermm...birds do smell...quails are the worst..!!!

Chicken does not smell when kept properly...
but quails poop are naturally smelly....

I have to disagree well on these buttons anyway. I have not cleaned my buttons cage for over 20 days when they were sitting on eggs and it did not have a bad odor, believe me my son would have said a lot, he has a very picky nose! it is best to keep the cages clean but when they are sitting you must leave them alone.

Read the thread on Quail Treats. There is information about using Apple Cider Vinegar in their water once a week to cut the smell.

I have over 2 dozen quail in my pen outside. As long as the poop doesn't get wet it doesn't smell much at alll. I have removable trays to catch the doo doo and they are sheltered from the rain. I clean them once a week. For my brooders I used pine pellets and they rarely stink either.
