Cockerel, because he has such a red comb and red wattles.
Cockerel, because he has a black breast (a female Partridge-colored chicken would not have a black breast.)

So I'm sure he's male.

Thank you 💕. My 12 year old is crying. Our city doesn’t allow roosters. She’s asking me about anti crow devices. Does anyone know if they’re safe? At least to give her time to let go of him...
 
Aww, I'm so sorry. I'm a teen too, and one of my favorites is a boy. Anti crow devices are basically shock collars. It's up to you. They do cause pain, but usually minor damage is ever done. He is gorgeous, btw. Where are you? Can you bargain with the city? House rooster setup?
