Hatching time is nearing for us! There are just a few things that we need to fix before we are set to hatch us some babies!
1. final touches on incubator---> adjustment of hum./temp. and right watt light bulb
2. new coop and brooder box/cage---> we need to build a new coop before we do anything else; the weasel may be coming back this Spring/Summer and one of our flocks is very vulnerable. And we are working on a brooder box/cage for baby chicks/young chicks to stay in until they are big enough to go with the rest of the flock
3. weather---> we need to wait a tiny bit before it really warms up. It gets down to like upper 20's-30's at night, and on warm days it can go up to 40's and 50's(like today). We need it warm enough for chicks to stay out in the garage in the brooder box/cage.
4. the right food---> we need to get grower feed because all we have now is laying mash, cracked corn, and other treats(like bread, donuts, leftovers, etc.)
And that's about it! Any suggestions?
