Our refubished coop

When we bought our house last year there was an old chicken coop in the backyard. It obviously hadn't been used for years and by the looks of the nesting boxes they had pigeons in there last.

We were just going to build a new coup on our farm property but I didn't have the extra couple grand we figured it would cost to build what we wanted.

So, I decided to fix up the old coop instead and keep the chickens at home with us.

First, it was LOADED with a bunch of junk! We emptied it out and gutted it. The roof also needed to be replaced because it was old and leaking.

My husband put insulation in it and we put up some old paneling that we found in the barn at the farm.

We've been working on the run over the last couple of days. It is finally almost done. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Don't mind the peeling paint. It still needs to be repainted.

Take care,

Excellent coop! I love it. Your run makes me really wish I had some level ground on which to build something. Living on a mountain, I always have to fuss with fencing to make anything work.

That is a nice sized coop. I would really love to have a coop that I could actually enter and stand up in! You will be able to have many nice chickens to fill it.
