In May when we decided to start our first flock,I went to the farm supply store and selected six pullet chicks. The youngest of these were our Plymouth Barred Rock's and they were so cute.

Over the next two months the chicks all grew and I started to notice the one of the Barred Rock chicks was growing faster and larger that all of the rest. We have been keeping chickens for three months now and it's official, we have a rooster. As it turns our this is the only one we didn't name, and now it's time to find this little guy a home.

I am not sure how to go about relocating him, and it's a little bitter sweet, because he's really getting pretty, but in our location a rooster would not be appreciated.

Aw that's too bad! Barred rocks are my favorite kind of roosters, they are just so cool looking. How come you can't keep him? Is it the law or neighbors or what?

Exactly. He is a beauty!! I too, love Barred Rocks, they're the best! I hope that some way, you can keep that gorgeous guy of yours.
