Our schools are contributing to the H1N1 hype and I'm not impressed...

Ok...so this is probably just me having a rotten attitude day but I just got a letter from our county school board titled: SWINE FLU.

The gist of the letter was recommending that we vaccinate our children for both the annual flu and the H1N1 flu and the usual wash your hands, dont send your kids to school sick, have medical supplies on hand etc etc.

I guess what annoys me is that they have never done this before for the regular seasonal flu but now I open up my email to SWINE FLU!

I just think that this could have been better handled with a memo about general communicable diseases, not by adding to the H1N1 panic.

Maybe I'm just having one of those days...

It has NOT been tested properly, it contains THIMEROSAL which is a form of mercury that has been positively linked to autism. The reasons for my determining that the articles in Exhibit C were invalid are delineated in Attachment D , attached hereto, -- "Physician"s Reasons for Determining the Invalidity of Adverse Scientific Opinions."

Hepatitis B

I understand that 60 percent of patients who are vaccinated for Hepatitis B will lose detectable antibodies to Hepatitis B within 12 years. I understand that in 1996 only 54 cases of Hepatitis B were reported to the CDC in the 0-1 year age group. I understand that in the VAERS, there were 1,080 total reports of adverse reactions from Hepatitis B vaccine in 1996 in the 0-1 year age group, with 47 deaths reported.

I understand that 50 percent of patients who contract Hepatitis B develop no symptoms after exposure. I understand that 30 percent will develop only flu-like symptoms and will have lifetime immunity. I understand that 20 percent will develop the symptoms of the disease, but that 95 percent will fully recover and have lifetime immunity.

I understand that 5 percent of the patients who are exposed to Hepatitis B will become chronic carriers of the disease. I understand that 75 percent of the chronic carriers will live with an asymptomatic infection and that only 25 percent of the chronic carriers will develop chronic liver disease or liver cancer, 10-30 years after the acute infection.

The following scientific studies have been performed to demonstrate the safety of the Hepatitis B vaccine in children under the age of 5 years.

i will never trust that these things are safe when its about profit. i wish they would let us be exempt from SOME on philisophical reasons. in va its religion or drs ok only. and i understand the reasons behind dtap, but not chicken pox, or hep b, and Now hep a. these are babies! i will also not get the flu vaccine bc i feel they are trying to get us accustomed to it so they an make it manditory. And how come it is ok to "test" this on say 1000 ppl when you plan on being ultimitly able to dose 300+ million with it? and then Skew the results and adverse reactions to it? how LONG did it take to get them to stop giving LIVE polio vaccine??? How many children Got polio from that??? but ya know if the companies said, sorry we're not making swine flu vaccine, they'd be villified. some ppl buy into hype and panic. its stupid. IF and this is big IF IF IF it mutates (and then into something deadly it could go the other way ya know), can they REALLY guarentee the shot they gave you will prevent the new strain?????? i HIGHLY doubt it. THATS the reason they are immune from lawsuits. its not just about side effects, its also about coverage. if it fails to protect, they are MORE likely to be sued.

Our schools haven't even mentioned the swine flu yet. We get a regular paper like that saying to wash your hands and all.

My kids won't be taking the vaccine even if they sent a notice home. I am anti vaccine anyway and none of my children even get the required vaccines until I feel they have passed the point of possibly developing autism or anything else...and they wouldn't be taking those if they weren't law required to enter school.

Schools have to cover their butts for everything. They're between a rock and a hard place most of the time. If they DIDN'T send out a letter, some parents would be complaining that they weren't informed of the possible risks and would line up in droves to sue if their kids got sick.

There's a good expression to explain this type of situation, but it's not family-friendly so I won't use it here.

Most schools have a severe influenza/pandemic policy and a procedure to follow when there is high risk. Informing parents is probably one of the steps on the procedure.

Just know the risks and make a decision that you feel comfortable with for your children and family.

-sigh- I hate vaccines. Not just because I don't like needles being poked into me, but I just don't like the idea of them. I just don't see either of these influenza strains being important enough to get vaccinated for at my age. All vaccines have poisons in them, like mercury and formaldehyde. And yet we continue to give them to our animals and ourselves

Some things I can definitely understand vaccinating for. Those things that spread like wildfire and kill everything in its path. But if a bird or a person can fight it off themself and build their own immunity, more power to them; they don't need to be vaccinated. But I guess we humans are different, since I'm pretty sure by now the human race revolves around medicine for this and vaccines for that. But our pets should still have some good immune systems left

Or at least, if you breed for stronger birds.
