Our Southern Bells

Hello, and welcome to BYC!

Growing up in the city, never could have imagine falling in love with chickens. My husband brought home a few Rhode Island Reds and the rest is history. We have 14 girls, a small pen and a cute coop. We named it "The Home of the Southern Bells".
Taking care of our chickens has add undeniable work to our lives but, it our labor has given us a return in joy. I cant help but smile when they roam and scratch the yard, have fun skipping around the flower garden and waddle with excitement when they see us coming with feed. And of course, the eggs -that I now eat as well as our children and friends. Incredible what these little stinkers can do to bring goodness and health to our home and souls.
