I have:
2 Silver-laced Wyandotte
1 black/white colombian brahma
1 blue/white colombian brahma
1 Blue Orpington
1 Mix 'black/white colombian' (bought as Brahma, but it have no feathery feet, so it must be a mix of something. Or another race)

They are very lucky. Beautiful flock. They will be much happier now with the freedom to find their own food. You should save on feed as well. Mine eat very little feed in the summer and rather find their own nutrician while free ranging. Feed is always available for them as they need/want it but they rather find their own.

You perfectly captured the feeling of peaceful summer with chickens. Especially with your little one. I can’t imagine a more idyllic way to grow up.
