When i walk out to their area, al my chickens run up to me and make their usual sounds, but these two australorps are always whining (sounds like a little kid whining noise but a much lower pitch). It actually sounds very sad lol... waiting to leave the coop, and waiting for whatever treats i have for them. This is normal right?

About half mine are Australorps or Australorp mixes, and those birds definitely make different sounds than the others. Whining is not a bad way of describing it!

Mine do and yes, they sound pitiful. I wonder if they picked it up from my Basset Hound, he whines when he wants anything. They keep trying to get to him at night like they think he's their mom so something LOL.
