I just fed my duck.
And he is now out of feed!
(He gets fed twice a day-once in the morning-and once in the late afternoon.)
I just fed him his morning serving.

But it's the week end and no feed stores are open!

Can I make homemade feed?
I have a couple of full dried ears of corn.
(There is a corn field in front of my house and they resently harvested the corn so I went out there to see if there was any thing left and there was...And a lot of it!)

Could I grind those up and feed them to him just until I can get food from a feed store?
By the way he is 10 and a half weeks old.

I'd say in a pinch but make sure there is no mold on any of it, and get to the feed store bright an early Monday morning this is not a wholesome diet for a growing duck. You could see if mom has any lettuce she would be willing to part with and chop some of that up to give on the side.

Veggies mostly the same that are healthy for us, dark green leafy, red, orange etc, oatmeal (unflavored), do NOT give an entire bowl of corn, I'd mix it with oats or veggies.

check in the stickies at the top of the forum for safe duck treats and see what you have on hand.

I always try to keep extra feed (not excessive) but I go get a new bag when I'm down to minimum 1/4 of a bag. My TSC is about 30 minutes away but all highway miles (65mph) so I try to buy at least 2 at a time so that I'm not spending so much on gas.

yep best to keep extra so you don't run out again.

Ditto the stickies idea.

Corn gives calories, but not much else, I believe. Just a little dry cat kibble would add some protein and vitamins. Rolled oats, not instant, adds some fiber. Chopped greens are good. Whole wheat berries (I don't know why we call seeds berries) also have some protein.

Reminds me. I need to go get some pellets.

He is now on a diet of corn, oat, and lettuce.
Is that okay?
His poop is a little greener than usual...
Is that bad?
Should I maybe give less lettuce?

That's not really a good all around diet. He will be lacking certain nutrients if you feed that solely.
