Out of my Mind... Pheasants laying eggs.. what to do?

I ordered some pheasant eggs about 3 months ago... tried incubating them and only 3 hatched... all the rest died inside there egg.

Well, My pheasants are starting to lay eggs. I found 2 eggs inside there house on Suday, Dec 20th, and then today I found 1 egg outside there house. What am I supposed to do. Is this normal for them to lay anywhere? Or do I start picking up the eggs and placing them in the incubator... what the process... Do I leave them outside until ther are a certain amout of eggs. Do I collect them? What is normal for pheasants. i dont know if I should leave them to mother nature or should I do It my self?

What humidity should I use for pheasants and what tempature.

Advice please.

Id collect them for about 8-10 days and set them if your looking for more babies.. they will lay them every were unless you have one that decides she is going to sit, then she will lay them in a nest and continue to lay them there until she ready to sit.

but beings they are young they more than likely will not sit for you in there first year. Plus if the pen isn't what they like that may make a difference in them going broody for you or not in time..

The temp and humidity should be close to incubating chickens. 99.5 and I thought that they were all different but my chicken settings are very close to pheasant hatching. Just add 2% humidity when hatching. Seems that the pheasant chicks tend to stick to the shell with the lower humidity.

it depends on how you depend on hatching them. if you decide to let them hatch naturally ( of cose it depends on the breed)then number them and put the date they where laid or when they are supposed to hatch. and no you do not have to wait a certain amount of time before you stat putting them in a incubator. i would still date mine if i put them in a incubator. if you want your birds to lay in a certain area put glof balls there and a lot of have then they will build a nest and lay eggs there.

Mine lay randomely this time of year, & turn it on in about 3 weeks. I collect them & save them up for 1 week & then incubate. These are my fertility tests, before egg sales start.

How many eggs will they lay a year? Ive got 5 females and i found a egg yesterday. Ive seen some sites say 50-60 a year and some say 15 per hen. Id like to buy a incubator and see if i can hatch them.

Hi!

We have a pair of Lady Amherst pheasants that are just 2 years old. Our female laid her 1st egg early this March. She began laying them all over the pen (about 10 eggs) and since she wasn't sitting on any of them, we decided to try and hatch them using an incubator but alas, nothing happened. Then one day I noticed she was in the the chicken coop - alongside our 2 chickens (I guess she decided that it was time to start sitting on her eggs), and has since been sitting on a clutch for almost 21 days. I can't wait to see if any hatch! I wish I could tell you how many she is sitting on, but I haven't been able to look.

** In a few of the articles I read, this breed of pheasant isn't big on brooding in captivity, so for us, this is really special.

If you don't want to hatch the eggs using an incubator and your hen won't sit on them, and you collect them within a few days, you can treat them as 'regular' eggs and eat them.
