I'm back!. Last of our White Leghorns and ISO Browns are gone and the Mrs decided on getting a new flock. Mix of Jersey Giant, Cinnamon Queen, and some other type (I say she got silver laced Wyandotte, but I'm being told I'm wrong) totally 9 chicks. Trying out a brooder heat panel instead of a bulb this time around and gave it a tilt so the chicks can huddle where they feel best at. Even set up a Ring camera to watch them, like I do when we have a litter of puppies and I'm at work.

After many broods with a heat lamp, I raised the last two groups with a brooder panel and liked it So Much Better! Especially, as you said, because it can be tilted to accommodate all the chicks as they grow.

I hope you're right on the Silver Laced Wyandotte -- they're gorgeous! One of last year's pullets is an SLW, who seems to think my head and shoulders are perfect landing places. I'm trying to teach Prudence to land on my ARM instead. But, she's so pretty that I forgive her every time.

Enjoy your Ring chicken cam and welcome back!!
