I am wanting to get either lovebirds, cockateils, OR parakeets.
Can I house them out doors with pheasants, quail etc.?

Thx!

I would not house them outside unless their enclosure is covered in plastic when cold outside and they will also need a heat lamp. I would not put them with any kind of pheasant or quail.

O, I think Tony keeps his Cockateils with his pheasant... OK

All tropical birds, requiring semi-tropical environments. Or at least a warm, draft free home. Have you googled "Care and Housing of ?????? " ( insert the flavor of the week bird for the question marks)

I know you get all worked up almost daily, thinking "I want that!". But you need to do more serious, in depth research and learning before you endanger more birds with improper care. You posted just the other day that you let a peach golden freeze to death. A semi-tropical bird will die in a heartbeat there. Right before that, your quail were killing each other. You've lost more birds than anyone here, just through lack of knowledge.

It's been said, but I'll repeat it anyway- LEARN before you LEAP.

Edited so I don't sound too awful.

I think you got me mixed up with someone else.I have raised pheasants for 30 years and know what has to be done.Did you mean to send this to bobwhitequaillover?
Yes,I do get worked up daily, trying to get people to care for their birds properly.

Yes,I do have cockatiels in with my grey peacock pheasants. They do not cause any troubles with pheasants, but chickens do.And I do not heat their pen. They climatize as long as you leave them outside all year long.

Well don't put them with your quail. A parakeet will freeze to death outside. Maybe you should learn how to keep the birds you have alive before you move on to killing another expensive bird huh?
