Outdoor run flooring question - wire to keep out predators?

We are converting a shed that is attached to our garage into a coop (about 6x8) and attaching a 6x10 wire enclosed run with a pop door in between. The outdoor run is a PVC pipe skeleton with 2x4 wire around and above. The "floor" of the run is mostly concrete, but there is a strip of dirt at the end of the run (maybe 1-2 feet) farthest from the coop. In theory, something could dig into the dirt and get into the run. Should I put either 2x4 wire or 1" chicken wire on the bottom of the run as a barrier to predators? I have to admit that I like the idea of the dirt being the dustbath area, but would hate for something to get in.

Opinions?

You could barry the fencing under the ground several inches, still giving then some dirt to bathe in, but they are still protected.
Just an idea, Good luck!
