Outdoor run issues. Help please!

Well I guess it depends on exactly the type of sand you get. If you get sand so thin that it becomes dusty, then it is a problem because the silica gets stuck or lodged in the lungs and can cause problems. Does that make sense? It's okay if you think I'm wrong still I'm not offended.

Indeed, about many things.
For the record.
I wasn’t referring to your posts Aart.

Playground sand is not dusty.
Diatomaceous earth is. But mixed with playground sand or used as a paint is not harmful at all.

I have been reading silica sand can be dangerous for the lungs. You need to buy the food grade DE for poultry/ livestock which is safe if used carefully.

Anything with crystalline silica in it's mineral structure is technically carcinogenic/cancer causing - playground sand, native soil blowing in the wind, powdered silica, rock dust, masonry products, etc. Diatomaceous earth does contain some silica but it's mostly in an amorphous form, and is not associated with being carcinogenic
