Outside brooding wish us luck

Update. 1st night they came back inside. I just brought them in during roost time and i took away their lamp and put them in my dining room, i half expected them to show distress but i got them a new 45 gallon tote with nice fresh hay and they all settled down and slept. They are in my carport in the tote so i can be more comfortable when checking on them, im not as worried about their warmth as before as they are a loving flock and cuddle well it seems. Im more concerned about fireworks freaking them out tonight.

Back out in their brooder box today with no heat lamp and they all looked fine all day so im taking it away. I think every one is fully feathered now so I'm not concerned about their heat anymore i guess. Ive been worrying myself more than necessary im sure.

I brooded my first chicks indoors under a heat lamp and hated it. The dust, the noise 24/7, the dumped over waterer in the shavings...never again! From then on every batch of chicks was raised outdoors in a wire pen within the run, and it was far superior for me and my chicks. Congrats on your chicks doing so well....and ain't it funny how a little thing like a few drops of water leaking where they aren't wanted can cause issues? :he

Edited to add: I don't use heat lamps...Mama Heating Pad worked perfectly!
