a couple of my chickens eggs have had different things on the outside. at one stage they had alot of brown dots on it and anothe covered in white chalky type stuff..

does this have anythign to do with their diet or health or what coz i am a little unsure.

thanks!

I think it has to do with calcium levels. Not sure. Maybe they're just getting a little more calcium than they need??? I don't think this is bad, I've seen some pics on here of some pretty bumpy looking eggs. I don't know....maybe that's the cause, someone else will have to help on what to do/when to worry.

some hens just mark their eggs up like that.an i dont know what causes those spots.if it was calcium there would be white bumps on the eggs.the strange colors come from the pigment of the egg shalls.
