Outside setups

Thinking of moving my quail outdoors so they can enjoy the fresh air, sunshine, and scratching and pecking in real dirt.

If we change the question to "will this work?" Then it should woke for you. I won't suggest it because I thick they are safer up on wire with a dusting pan.

I do like that tho & the price looks pretty good.

The ramp might be a problem but steps usually work. I keep bobs and button on ground and have one part placed on cement while the other part has a cylinder block beneath ground level to stop rodents. There pretty happy birds digging eating seeds worms whatever they find

I'm thinking I could remove the ladder and put in a ramp if they have difficulty going up and down

They will not use that ladder.
You want it as easy for them to go up and down as possible.

I have a small chicken coop which came with a ramp. The quails could not use it.
I got some scrap wood and nailed it across the ramp and they use it all the time now.
They love running up and down it, and they go upstairs at night because i put a small solar spotlight up there.

Its great, keeps the warmth from the sun in winter and at night.

Mine have a ramp I stapled pine branches to for extra traction they run up and down it all day

I'm thinking of getting quails. I have looked up what quails are legal in California, but have had no helpful info.
